Old Haunts
Ed Blundell
It’s dangerous to dig the past,
Raking over the times before,
Disturbing ghosts, once laid to rest
That wakened come to haunt once more.
People you used to know have changed
Past times are not now as they were.
Things that were buried long ago
Are often safer left to lie,
Old memories and half formed dreams
Like creatures from a fairy tale
Once brought to life will not return
To that dark place from whence they came.
