From Here
Hannah McGregor
(a reverse poem: read from top to bottom) [ then backwards, bottom to top]
From here
I can see the horizon – it’s only up
The moulding trail, where
I can destroy
Everything I am.
To love
I told myself
To drown.
I am not prepared
For what it’s worth,
unfamiliar oceans and
Glimpses of our
Future,
I tried to see the
Ways you broke the tide
From the magic
Of the moon
I saw your side
I couldn’t turn.
But I know that
When I looked back
It was lost
All of
The fear
Was a backwards catapult
I was going to
The bottom
